It is important that your student attends class every week. Regular attendance is vital to student progress and group choreography. Attendance is necessary if a child wishes to show a marked degree of improvement and to allow teachers to do the best job possible.
Missed Class Make Up Policy
If a student misses a class it can be made up during the month in which they were absent. Ask the instructor for which class they may take. NO refunds will be given for a missed class. Classes that are canceled will be rescheduled.
Classes will be conducted with the doors closed. It is very disturbing for the students as well as teachers when there is a lot of noise and activity in the room. At various time through out the year parents are invited into the class to serve as a practice audience for the dancers.
Photo Image Release
Pictures are occasionally taken of the students dancing throughout the year or during parties and other social events at the studio. If you DO NOT want your child’s photo to be used on our website or social media, please fill out the “No Photo Release” form.
Please refrain from parking on the lawn.
Students follow a dress code that reflects professionalism and discipline allowing teachers to see body lines and make appropriate corrections. Short hair must be secured back off the face. All long hair must be secured in a ponytail, bun, or braid. Absolutely no T-shirts, jeans, gym shorts, or sweat pants permitted. No jewelry may be worn during class (earrings, watches, etc.) We recommend the dancers wear a leotard and tights to all dance classes. Male dancers may wear gym shorts and a white t-shirt. Gymnastic classes may wear a leotard, tight fitting tank, dance shorts with bare feet. All competition technique classes must wear a leotard with tan or pink convertible or footless tights, and pink ballet shoes. Competition choreography classes may wear dance clothes only. Proper shoes must be worn to all classes.
Students must wait inside the lobby to be picked up. NO student should leave the building without an adult. All students must use the restroom before class. Please try to keep the lobby as quiet and clean as possible. Please do not interrupt the teacher while class is in session, if you need to speak with the teacher please try to do so before or after class. All Star Dance is not responsible for unsupervised children. Please clean up after your child if they have played with the provided books and toys.
Dance training is built on standards that reflect respect and professionalism. These standards include listening to your teacher, applying your corrections, and wearing the required dress code. We expect our dancers to arrive on time, ready for dance, and to display courtesy to their parents, teachers, and classmates. Any misconduct unbecoming to students, guests, or teachers may result in suspension from class. A good attitude is very important in any learning environment. It is also considered in class progress on an individual basis. No gum chewing is allowed during class. Classes will start promptly at the time specified. If you are late, please come in and put your shoes on as quietly as possible and join the class in session.
All studio fundraisers are voluntary. If you decide to participate, you will receive a list of what to sell and how much money will go into your own account. Each student who participates will have their own account for their own earnings. All earnings can be used for lessons, recital fees, costumes, etc… You decide where you want your money to go. We will be offering a variety of fundraisers for you to choose from, if you wish to participate.
Home practice is needed by each student to progress. We encourage parents to support this as it will help the teachers move each class and student at a faster rate, as well as promote progress. Make it a weekly basis of asking your child if the teacher gave out any notices, etc. Please inform your instructor of any injuries, allergies, or special needs that may require extra attention. Please be prompt in picking up your child at the end of class time. We also suggest that someone accompany little ones at the beginning as well as at the end of class time.
Please remember All Star Dance is here to serve you with your child’s dance education. Please call us any time with any questions, complaints, or suggestions. We look forward to the coming year with excitement as we watch your child grow and develop in the area of dance.
